Back (way back) when I was in college during mid 80’s I was a member of the first GLBT student union.
This was in a time when AIDS fear was at it’s height. It took our group about a year to convince the college administration to become an official school organization. Of the many reasons why they told us that we could not be a official group…the one that still stands out was…The College Administration felt that having a GLBT group might be a health hazard to the school. In essence, they were afraid that we would bring AIDS to the campus. Crazy to think about now.
It’s nice to hear that you and fellow students have not experienced any trouble.
Being in my GLBT group helped me greatly in coming out as a gay man. I would not trade those times for anything. It was a very empowering time for me.
Great show guys…your audio was very good.
I have the same microphone. I love it.

Absolutely loooooved the 2nd show honeys! It is neat to listen to you 2 talk about being gay in Alabama, and it certainly took me back to a time i’d more or less put behind me. It is easy to sit here after 5 years and have a sense of nostalgia for home and “Bama” but listening to you reminds me about some of the reasons i couldn’t wait to leave. I developed sort of a hetero-phobia growing up and never socialized with straight people cause just like you said, 8 out of 10 don’t really want to know anything about you if your GLBT. I don’t miss those uncomfortable moments in restaurants at all. Also, was really neat to hear you talk about Foley and Auburn as most of my extended family is from South Alabama. Feels like home listening to you girls! Keep up the good work and waiting anxiously for the next show! Hugz to both of you Babies!!

I developed sort of a hetero-phobia growing up and never socialized with straight people cause just like you said, 8 out of 10 don’t really want to know anything about you if you happened to be unfortunate enough to be born GLBT in the south. I don’t miss those uncomfortable moments in restaurants at all. Also, was really neat to hear you talk about Foley and Auburn as most of my extended family is from South Alabama. Heard about your show from AJ and Tigger’s casts. I was really excited when I listened to the first podcast and this one is even that much better. I look forward to future casts as you two hit your stride (which seems to be already happening). Please do not worry about the accent and the drawl, it’s part of who you two are.. Embrace it.. It’s lovely. Leslie’s, your story of losing your “virginity” was HOT….
I sooooo disagree with your opinion about how straight and gay men are “supposed” to be.. It seems based on destructive gender roles and stereotypes. Was that tounge and cheek, or do you really believe that nonsense?
